Taxi:
Wayne Blank from Corporate Cabs will bring you to the doorstop for $80 - 90 dollars, a savings of $20 from other taxi services. Phone Wayne 027 459 8050.
Compass Cabs - a local company - ph 8128 078 PIHA Runs daily from 1 December through to end of February.

Piha shuttle bus:
Departs daily at 8.30 am from 180 Quay St, Downtown BUS $30 one way. Phone Peter 627 2644.

Bus:
Buses run from City to Henderson daily leaving from bus stop D3, Queen St, opposite Britomart. Cost is $5.00. A taxi will then be required from Henderson to Karekere, approximate cost of $55-60.

Train:
Trains leave daily from Britomart to Henderson. A taxi will then be required.

Shuttle bus:
Peter Gillespie of Piha Shuttle Bus will bring out 1 person for $60.00, 2 people for $70, 3 people for $80 and 4 for $90. Phone PETER 627 2644. Book in advance.

By Car:

Note: There is no local petrol station at Kare Kare or Piha, the closest is Henderson, Titirangi, Oratia - please ensure you have a full tank of gas before leaving the city.

Please print out the directions and map before departing city as opportunities for directions once you leave Henderson are minimal.

  1. Take the road to Piha from the Scenic Drive, and turn left into Lone Kauri Road.
  2. Go down approximately 4.3 km until you reach a Private Road on the right with many letterboxes (Equinox lodge is numbered 130).
  3. Caution Lone Kauri Road is very narrow, twisty and turny so keep over to the left of the road.
  4. Go down the road at the first junction, go straight ahead (not veer left) and down the hill.
  5. Continue down the Private Rd  a total of 1 km until you reach a sharp right angle bend.
  6. Do not veer off the road prior to the right angle bend but keep going down the hill.
  7. At the right angle bend you will see a sign saying Equinox Lodge.
  8. Go straight ahead and turn right at the gate.
  9. Do not go by house numbers as these are not in sequence, we are located at the end of the right of way.

Room rates:

Self catering: NZ$200.00 per night for double occupancy.
This is for the Green room.

Bed and Breakfast: NZ$250.00 per night for double occupancy.
Standard luxury B & B Accommodation for either room, per night, includes full breakfasts.

Multi Night or Room Reservations:
When more than one room is reserved, or more than one night, there is a 10% reduction on the room rate.

Weekend Special for 2 nights:

  • Self catering $300.00
  • Bed & Breakfast $350.00

Meals:

Dinner: NZ$50.00 per person
Dinner is available by prior arrangement with a selection of a la carte menus

Lunch: NZ$15.00 per person
Lunch is available by prior arrangement.

All pricing in New Zealand dollars and includes GST.

Equinox Lodge offers the following payment options:

A 50% deposit is required to confirm bookings, all transactions need to be verified before booking is confirmed. See our reservations policy in our terms and conditions.

Paypal:
On line deposits via credit card Visa, Mastercard or Amex cards (or paypal account) can be via our website. Once transaction is verified booking will be confirmed. Credit Card payments are only accepted via Paypal.

Credit Card:
We only accept credit card payments via on line payment via Paypal.

Bank Transfer:
We accept direct debit payments to our bank account - account details provided on request. Once transaction has been verified, booking will be confirmed.

Bank or Personal cheque:
We will accept personal or bank cheque, both are subject to clearance and verification before booking will be confirmed.

Account Balances:
All accounts must be settled on last morning of your stay. We accept cash, credit card only via on line payment via Paypal.

Conditions:

  • Equinox lodge is a non smoking environment and smoking is only allowed outside.
  • Equinox lodge is exclusively for adults and we do not cater for children.
  • We request that shoes are not worn inside, please bring slippers or socks to be worn inside.

Pricing:
Prices are shown in New Zealand Dollars (includes GST) - if paying from overseas, the final price will be based upon exchange rate current at time of processing transaction.

Booking confirmation policy:
We request a 50% prepaid deposit to confirm your booking, this can be paid direct into our account or by credit card via our paypal account. When this payment is received and cleared we will confirm your booking - we reserve the right to accept other bookings if deposit for booking is not yet received.

Firm reservations will be held until either the arrival of the guests or the receipt of a written cancellation.

Cancellations:
Seven days written notice is required to cancel your booking otherwise the deposit becomes non-refundable.

Booking changes:
Once a booking confirmation has been accepted any request to alter dates already confirmed will incur an administration fee of $25.00.

Privacy Policy:
When you communicate or conduct a transaction via this web site, you supply us with personal information.  Your privacy is important to us and therefore your information and contact details are only used for the purpose for which you supplied them.  We will not share, sell or pass this information onto other third parties, except where legislation requires.

Errors and omissions
Although all the information in this website has been carefully checked due to on going changes errors or omissions may occur from time to time, we will be happy to resolve these issues when they occur.

All bookings are thoroughly investigated for fraud, your ISP customer specific IP address are logged when submitting a booking.
